DETAILS
Art Fueling Resilience Panel Presented by The Simple Good during Chicago Art Week At The Simple Good, our mission is to connect the meaning of “good” from around the world through art, amplifying youth voices and fostering empathy, leadership, and social-emotional growth. This panel brings that mission into conversation with one of today’s most urgent needs: resilience. In a world marked by uncertainty—economic instability, social division, and rapid change—art remains one of the most powerful tools for helping individuals and communities process, adapt, and lead. Through creative expression, we build emotional awareness. Through storytelling, we strengthen empathy. Through shared artistic experiences, we cultivate connection. These are the very foundations of resilience. This dynamic conversation will feature prominent creatives and supporters who will share how art has shaped their ability to navigate adversity, sustain purpose, and build community impact. Their stories reflect what we witness every day in our youth programs: when young people are given space to create and define what “good” means to them, they develop confidence, voice, and the capacity to overcome challenges. Connect with fellow creatives and changemakers as we celebrate the power of art to transform lives and communities. Save your seat and join the movement! Moderator: Priya Shah, Founder & CEO of The Simple Good Panelists: 🎤 David Johnson, Photographer & Founder of True Chicago 🎤 Teresa Nelson, Painter 🎤 Damiane Nickels, Painter & Muralist 🎤 Vincent Uribe, Artist & Community Builder If you believe in the power of art to help young people build confidence, empathy, and resilience, consider supporting our mission. Donate to The Simple Good and help us continue bringing creative experiences to youth in Chicago and beyond!
